The NOVASINA LabStart-aw is a water activity meter designed to measure the aw (water activity) value in product samples. It is ideal for users who are new to water activity measurement and require a device that is user-friendly, compact, and cost-effective. It utilizes resistive electrolytic sensor technology—the same technology Novasina employs in its water activity meters.

The LabStart-aw is suitable for basic quality control (QC) and learning about water activity; the manufacturer positions it as an entry-level instrument for applications that do not require the high levels of accuracy and repeatability found in higher-end models.
